SuperKalam, an AI-driven personal mentor for students preparing for competitive exams, has successfully closed a seed funding round, securing $2 million.

The funding round was led by renowned startup accelerator YCombinator and investment firm Fundersclub.

Other notable investors in this round include YC Partner Puneet Kumar, Goodwater Capital, Nurture Ventures, SuperCapital, and Pareto Ventures.

The fresh capital will be used to enhance SuperKalam’s AI-based educational platform, broaden its reach, improve user experience, and drive continuous innovation in personalized learning services.

Founded in July 2023 by Vimal Singh Rathore and Aseem Gupta, SuperKalam aims to transform the education landscape by leveraging artificial intelligence to offer personalized guidance and support for students preparing for competitive exams.

This venture marks the second edtech startup by co-founder Vimal Singh Rathore, following his previous success with Coursavy, which was acquired by Unacademy in September 2020.

“We are excited to have iconic investors join us in our mission to rethink learning in an AI-first world,” said Vimal Singh Rathore, co-founder and CEO of SuperKalam. “At SuperKalam, we are committed to leading this change by transitioning from unilateral content broadcasts to delivering personalized learning that adapts to each student’s unique needs.”

Currently, SuperKalam boasts a user base of over 60,000 students. The platform creates customized study plans and sets daily targets based on each student’s progress, ensuring a tailored learning experience.

The startup aims to scale this personalized approach and reach out to the 5 million students across the country who are beginning their civil service examination preparation.

With the new funding, SuperKalam is poised to further solidify its position in the edtech industry, delivering innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of students in the competitive exam space.
