In a major boost to India’s defence innovation, IG Drones has secured a patent for the nation’s first indigenous defence drone simulator reducing reliance on foreign platforms.

Entirely developed in India and first showcased by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Defence Expo 2022, the simulator delivers AI-powered, high-fidelity training to the Army, Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary forces. It enables personnel to simulate combat and disaster scenarios, enhancing readiness in complex environments.

With this patent, IG Drones becomes the first Indian firm to secure IP rights in defence drone simulation.

“This patent is a proud declaration of India’s technological resurgence,” said Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, Founder & CEO of IG Drones. “We are building the future of Bharat’s defence under Prime Minister Modi ji’s visionary leadership.”

The simulator integrates advanced AI, real-time terrain modelling, and physics engines, supporting training in GPS-denied zones, multi-drone missions, and AI flight testing. It also strengthens disaster response preparedness — from floods to urban emergencies.

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal lauded the milestone: “This will replace imported systems and deliver cost-effective, realistic training to our armed forces. A major boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat!”

Aligned with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, the simulator adds momentum to India’s defence modernisation. IG Drones previously demonstrated its capabilities in Operation Sindoor, deploying indigenous VTOL, FPV, and kamikaze drones for surveillance and precision strikes.
