Agritech startup Eeki has raised $7 million in fresh funding from Sixth Sense Ventures, marking its first capital infusion in over three years.

This development follows earlier rounds in 2022, where it secured $6.5 million in a Series A led by General Catalyst and $2 million from Avaana Capital and others.

The new funds will be deployed to scale Eeki’s climate-resilient farming operations across India, roll out its third-generation aeroponic growing chambers, bolster R&D, and increase its overall farming footprint.

Founded by Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar in 2018, the Kota-based startup is focused on creating a sustainable, scalable food production system that addresses environmental challenges like soil degradation and water scarcity.

Eeki operates on a patented climate-controlled aeroponic model, which allows it to grow pesticide-free staple vegetables year-round, even on barren land. The aeroponics technique suspends plant roots in the air and nourishes them with a fine nutrient mist, reducing water usage by up to 95% compared to traditional farming and enabling higher yields at comparable costs.

The startup’s approach not only ensures better nutritional value but also supports local produce availability by enabling farms in non-arable regions, thus reducing pressure on fertile agricultural land.
