Bengaluru-based battery technology startup Dreamfly Innovations has secured ₹12 crore in a seed funding round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from Sunicon Ventures and existing investors.

The company plans to utilize the funds to set up a manufacturing unit, expand its team, and accelerate research and development.

About Dreamfly

Founded in 2022 by Kajal Shah and Saurabh Markandeya, Dreamfly develops advanced battery solutions for drones, aviation, and aerospace applications, catering to industries such as agriculture, terrain mapping, surveillance, and logistics.

The startup’s batteries feature a thermal case to improve efficiency, reduce operating temperatures, and minimize fire risks. Additionally, they are designed to function in extreme conditions, operating efficiently even at -30°C.

Shah highlighted that while electrification is the future, battery technology remains a key challenge.

With the aviation and aerospace sectors poised for rapid growth, the need for more effective battery solutions to power drones and aircraft is more pressing than ever.

Dreamfly counts Tata Advanced Systems, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), and General Aeronautics among its major customers.

In 2023, the startup raised ₹4.9 crore in an angel funding round from Rebalance Angel Community and IIM Ahmedabad’s CIIE.
