Krishna Kumar – The founder and CEO of Simplilearn, one of the world’s biggest online certification training providers for professionals, is the guy who redefined professional certification.

Krishna Kumar grew up in a rural village in Kerala, India. He earned his engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka, India, and his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States.

Krishna joined Infosys in 1999 as a Software Engineer to help with software development and requirement engineering.

In 2000, he quit his employment there after only a year to launch his first entrepreneurial firm, TechUnified.

Krishna was the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of TechUnified, which was acquired by a publicly traded firm in February 2007.

Krishna launched Zyoin, an online recruiting marketplace, in May 2008, and also experimented with blogging!

On a part-time basis, he began by sharing his thoughts on project management and related topics on this WordPress site.

Simplilearn.com was started in 2010 by Krishna Kumar. In the years thereafter, he has grown the organisation into one of the leading providers of certification training for working professionals. Krishna, an edu-tech thought leader, believes in combining technology and human connection to create a world-class learning experience.

Krishna Kumar is a father of two children.

Simplilearn began with just a few courses, but it quickly evolved to become one of the world’s largest providers of online certification training.

Krishna, an information technology entrepreneur at heart, has transformed SimpliLearn into the largest professional certification training organisation with a global presence, training over 500,000 professionals in over 150 countries.

Simplilearn has received various honours and recognition under Krishna Kumar’s leadership, including being designated one of the fastest-growing technology businesses in India by Deloitte and being named one of the top 20 online learning firms in the world by Training Industry.
