Amit Banerji, the CEO and Co-founder of Table Space, a leading co-working space provider, has passed away at the age of 44 following a heart attack.

Banerji was a distinguished professional known for his expertise in technology, real estate, negotiations, asset management, and business planning.

His strategic vision and leadership were instrumental in transforming Table Space into a major player in the co-working sector.

Table Space, which Banerji co-founded in 2017 with Karan Chopra and Kunal Mehra, has grown significantly in the co-working industry. The company had engaged Axis as a book runner and was preparing for a public listing this year.

The startup has raised approximately $163 million through 5 funding rounds, with its latest funding in August 2024 valuing the company at $480 million, as per Tracxn.

Under Banerji’s leadership, Table Space reported a 35% revenue growth in FY24, reaching ₹919 crore, driven by higher occupancy and expanded leasable areas.

The company was eyeing an IPO in 2025, targeting a valuation exceeding $2.5 billion.

Banerji’s passing marks a significant loss for Table Space and the wider startup and co-working ecosystem.

His death comes amidst a series of similar tragedies in the startup community, including the recent losses of Rohan Mirchandani, Co-founder of Epigamia, and Rohan Malhotra, Co-founder of Good Capital.
